Maria Kay Simms, a professional astrologer for over 30 years, is a former Chair of National Council for Geocosmic Research, Inc. (NCGR). She is certified CA NCGR in Consulting and PMAFA, and is a member of Association for Professional Astrologers International (MAPAI). Maria was educated as a fine artist (BFA, Illinois Wesleyan University ), and had a substantial early art career prior to her study of astrology beginning in 1973. She has also been active in related businesses, first as proprietor of a metaphysical bookshop, and later as the Art Director, then President of Astro Communications Services, Inc. in San Diego . She is the author of eight books, six of them currently in print: Dial Detective, Future Signs, Your Magical Child, The Witch's Circle, A Time for Magick and Moon Tides, Soul Passages. In late 2004, now living in New Hampshire , Maria started a new business, Starcrafts LLC, through which she is publishing books and art products based on paintings by herself and a daughter, Molly Sullivan. Maria's astrological techniques are practical but also strongly influenced by metaphysical concepts and by her spiritual path as a Wiccan High Priestess. She emphasizes the power of personal choice.

As the Universe, so the soul.” In this session, based primarily on Maria's books on and transits and timing, Future Signs and A Time for Magick , you will be challenged to choose what you CAN do and WILL do, instead of worrying about what will “happen” to you. Explore the themes of major trend transits—outer planets, lunations and eclipses, and learn to take charge of your future.
Maria has found, from her experience, that no one single factor in a chart carries more interpretive power toward understanding the flow of life than natal and progressed Moon, her natal and progressed lunar phase cycle, and her relationship to Earth and Sun in eclipses, prenatal and transiting. Moon Tides, Soul Passages, Maria's recent critically acclaimed book and software combination, will be introduced with a colorful Power Point show filled with art and photography, designed to evoke both intuitive and basic understanding of lunar signs and phases. Then, following a demonstration of a few example Moon Tides software reports showing lifetime lunar phase cycles of public figures, we'll work with individual reports of participants, and close with a meditation based on the current lunar sign and phase. Participants are asked to give their birth data with registration so their Moon Tides reports can be prepared in advance.

Attendance at the Guild lectures is free for our members. Non-members are charged a drop-in fee of $8.
Guild has a meeting once a month in New Westminster, BC. It is always on the 2nd Thursday of the month. We start at 7:30 PM and have a social coffee break half way through. We usually finish about 9:30 PM. We meet on the premises of the International Spiritualist Alliance, 317 Columbia Street--upstairs unit 201. It is convenient to the skytrain station. Map below
