May 2008

Our schedule has changed a little, the speaker we booked last year for this spot has had to cancel, however, we are extremely pleased to present a wonderful replacement. Julie McBeth has been teaching Financial Astrology to both astrologers and traders over the past couple of years. Her twenty years in the field of finances have provided her tools for using astrology for investing and predicting cycles. Julie splits her workweek between financial communications consulting and astrological consulting at her busy practice in Melbourne Australia.

See June for our second speaker...

Thursday Talk on May 8 at 7:30 PM

Financial Astrology

Financial astrology has been around for centuries. Traders in grains and precious metals in ancient India used it to set buy and sell times in the markets. In modern times it has been used by astrologers to plan business startups and for market trading. Julie will be doing an introductory lecture on the techniques used in Financial astrology

Drop-in fee for non-members $8.

Friday night Talk on May 9, 2008 at 7:00 PM

Hellenistic Astrology Techniques

How did the ancient astrologers asses a chart? Our Astrological roots have been slowly revealed over the past few decades. Project Hindsight, which began with astrologers Robert Hand, Robert Zoller and Robert Schmidt, has been responsible for translating many ancient and medieval texts. Many of these texts have been translated from primary sources to English for the first time.

Astrologers of the first and second century CE – Doretheus of Sidon, Vettius Valens of Antioch and of course Claudius Ptolemy all contributed to our astrological knowledge of this period.

Many of these techniques have continued to be used by the Vedic or Jyotish astrologers of India , where unlike the West – they have a continuous astrological history.

This talk will look at the foundations of our craft – the building blocks that we can return to and build a solid foundation. Some of the techniques Include: Planetary Sect; Whole Sign Houses; Planets and their Visibility; Profection and Trigon Lords. In this talk we will look more closely at the Whole Sign Houses and Profections—the two techniques which I find very useful.

Drop-in fee $10 for members and $20 for non-members. Members sign up for all four workshops in 2008 with the four Friday night talks and save money!!

Saturday Workshop May 10, 2008 10AM-5PM

Investing your Money

This workshop will cover the astrological basics of money and investing.

We will look at the finances of the individual – Where do you find your money in your chart? (And more importantly) When is it coming? What are your money houses and which planets are the money planets!

In the second half of the workshop we will look at the company chart. What do the houses represent in the company chart? Should you invest?

Finally we will look at WD Gann, whose financial market predictions (which are based on planetary cycles) made him millions during the depression of the 1930s. We will also cover corporate case studies such as the collapse of Enron.

Fee for workshops $90; $70 if signed up by April 10,or sign up for all four 2008 workshops and Friday night talks for $275. Four workshops for $250. Senior rates available for members who are 60 years of age. Open PDF document

This is a huge savings over the regular fee of $360 for all four workshops. Prepay the four Friday night talks and save some more, $275 in total. Read about the other 2008 workshops at the Guild.
