Meeting called to order at 6:55 PM
Present: Anne Massey, Thaya Sukhanova, Sally Marcantonio, Dietmar Stoll, Dawn Muncaster, Gloria Wendland, Malonie Ryane, Judy Cross, Charlotte Greenwood
We discussed the financial statement prepared by the treasurer, despite a few unplanned expenditures; our expenses were less than our income. The increase for the year was less than $10. The financial statement is available to members upon request.
We voted to set the drop-in fees for non-members to $8, the newsletter subscription remains at $15 and annual dues remain the same, regular membership $45 and $35 for seniors. It was proposed that we set an age for seniors. Upon a vote this was deemed to be 60 years, effective for the new fiscal year from November 1, 2007 to October 31, 2008.
Workshop fees are $90/$70 for members, $70/$50 for senior members and $110/$90 for non-members. The first amount is the one payable at the door, the second is the amount, when pre-registered and paid by early bird deadline. For 2008, we are offering four workshops and additional lectures at a significant discount, when prepaid by March 15, 2008.
As our scheduled speaker for November has cancelled due to family illness, we are offering a substitute workshop and lectures.

1. The fixed stars of the zodiac...travelling through the Zodiac wheel (including the 13th sign, Ophiuchus) with Dawn Muncaster
We will look at the major fixed stars—their interpretation and how they may affect your chart. We will also include a look at the medical correlations. Bring both your Tropical and Sidereal Chart and a printout of the Kepler fixed Star Wheel.
2. Career Indicators with Dawn Muncaster
Analysis of our career indications, houses, planets in our career houses, Saturn placement, the 'cusp' of Saturn, The MC. Pallas, the closest aspect, the scout planet, using the Sabian Symbols, degree indications, and fixed stars. Bring both the tropical and sidereal chart
3. The Rx cycles in our lives and the power of the stations and conjunctions. The emphasis will be on the personal planets. With Anne Massey
We will be mailing out a flyer about the substitute talks and workshop as quickly as possible.
If you prepaid, do you want a refund? Do you want a part of your payment to be used to renew your membership?
Anne Massey will continue as the president until October 2008, upon which time she will be stepping down. Dawn Muncaster will continue as the Vice President. Dietmar Stoll will continue as the Editor, Andrea Korecova, who was absent at the meeting, will continue as treasurer and Sally Marcantonio will continue as secretary taking care of the refreshments. However, after years of taping the lectures, Sally will no longer handle this.
We voted to purchase a digital recorder for taping the lectures. This device can be handed to the speaker and we already have a microphone for one. We don't need to store and purchases cassettes. The cost should be less than $100. Dietmar Stoll agreed to handle the downloading of sound and generating CDs for the Library. No changes were made to the library fees.
We are looking for someone to generate flyers and announcements. If you'd like to work with these contact Anne at anne@astrologicallyspeaking.com . These are created in word and many are partially prepared.
Gloria Wendland will be presenting a talk on Financial Astrology in March 2008. We have open speaking spots for next year and continue to pay a $75 honorarium to the speaker. As always, if you would like to present a talk, suggest a topic etc. please contact Anne 604.888.9552 or Dawn 604.538.5152. Your input is welcomed. No speakers will be booked for 2009 season until we know your preferences. The remaining slots on the 2008 schedule will be filled based upon requests from the membership. Note only local speakers will be invited for those months. Currently January, February, April and October are open.
In 2008, we have four major events—four international speakers will be in town to present two talks and a workshop each. Mark your calendars: May 8-10, June 12-14, September 11-13 and November 13-15, 2008. Maggie Kerr, from Australia will be in town in May to present two talks and a workshop before heading out to present her lectures at UAC. In June Maria K. Simms, another UAC presenter will be in town to present two talks and a workshop at the Guild. After our Summer break, in September, Stephanie J. Clement, author of ten astrology books, will be presenting two talks and a workshop at the Guild. In November, Chris McRae from Edmonton will be in Vancouver to present two talks and a workshop, and administering the ISAR competency exam on the Sunday. Chris is also lecturing at UAC next Spring. It is exciting to have so many world-class astrologers right here in town over the next year, and as a Guild member you can sign up at a significant savings for all four events: four Friday night talks and four workshops for $275.00; the four workshops for $250.00, when paid by March 15, 2008 . Each regular workshop fee is $90—4x$90=$360 ($70 with the early bird discount: 4x$70=$280)—you can realize significant savings while helping the Guild commit to bringing excellent astrologers to share their knowledge.
A registration flyer about the four workshops next year will be mailed with the November workshop and talks announcement, you should see this by the 20 th of October.
Our year is from November 1, 2007 through October 31, 2008. Dues become payable November 1, 2007. Regular renewal is $45 and for seniors (age 60) $35. We appreciate your continued support and look forward to an exciting year at the Guild once again.
Based on a member request, we voted to offer a lifetime membership at $400 to our regular members and $300 for seniors (60 years). No refunds will be issued on lifetime memberships should the organization cease operations.

We have also decided that we want to show our appreciation for local speakers at the suggestion of our treasurer and with the support of the Executive, and we will be paying them a $75 honorarium for a talk on the Thursday nights.
For local speakers we pay all of the proceeds, after our rent for the premises is paid, for any Saturday workshop.
