The nodal axis - representing the evolving corridors of our contemporary learning - has just moved into the Aries/Libra polarity. Aries creates force and momentum, challenges the status quo and offers avenues to break free and create anew. We will all confront lessons of singular versus plural, and the imbalances of relationships (self to self, self to other, self to environment). We will be challenged to find greater personal freedom, independence, individuality, more fertile circumstances, more creative accessing, more love and appreciation over this next eighteen months. We will learn of the competition within ourselves as much as we will learn about competition when stepping outside of ourselves. The Libra south node will recreate familiar relationship dynamics and value associations that are ingrained or well established from within - from recent life experiences and also from past life experiences. The Libra south node can be a strong backward pull - do we truly have freedom and opportunity? Can we truly act as separate and distinct? How dependent are we on each other (at all levels - personally, politically, environmentally). How do others "run interference" or create circumstantial conflict that we consider as contrary to our personal desires and needs?
The north node in Aries beckons to the trail blazing spirit. It asks for courage and initiative. It is a time of carving out a new relationship identity within self, which in turn will create a chain reaction down the line of relationship accessing - including facing /confronting your own habitual and reactionary self. It is a time of seeking, creating, experimenting, trusting instincts and opening up to experience. Graceful and harmonious may not always be the Aries way of reaching forward. While smash, clash, crash and burn can be part of the growth experience, spirited Aries is also a great bounce back archetype. Aries greatest assets lie in its fire - its freshness, hopefulness, curiosity, passion and creator instinct. The trial and error process of the Aries archetype can sometimes be difficult, but it is always producing of new life.
Aries seeks to create separateness and distinction. While it is true that what effects one affects all and that Aries is often a disruptive environmental influence, this drive need not be antithetical to the accessing of unity, harmony and cooperation. To strengthen or own one's self need not be experienced as taking something away from another in order to access more of self. Loving yourself more does not necessary mean loving someone else less. The Aries/Libra nodal axis can draw you toward relationships or circumstances that have some, but not all of what you seek. This is an instinctual way of safeguarding your freedom and independence - although the insecurity of being confronted with change at any moment can feel quite threatening. This Aries/Libra nodal axis speaks of both the conflicts and potentials created by the breaking of a chain. It also speaks of the forging of new links, identifications and value associations - of firsts and births. Ultimately, two halves don't make a whole - two wholes do.
(Sometimes you have to embrace a greater sense of self/ego centric awareness before you can have something worthy to offer, or conversely be able to effectively relinquish your ego centric identification in order to merge more fully with another.)
Mars, ruler of the north node has just entered Sagittarius (to Feb. 7). Venus, ruler of the south node is already in this sign (remaining to Jan. 9). There's no better time to put yourself on the fast track now than right now. The more introductions and inroads you make - the better off you will be. Jupiter (Sagittarius's ruler, the sign Pluto also tenants) in Libra enlarges the mission to create a life that reflects the truer self. Embrace more, have more. Move yourself further, faster.
While the nodal axis ignites a new cycle for all, cardinal signs are emphasized
- Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn. Mars and Venus, the rulers of the nodes,
will cover many different sign placements over this next eighteen months,
suggesting a myriad of relationship dynamics to be accessed and evolved. The
movement of Mars around your chart is well worth noting. This is where you
are likely to yourself confronted, ignited or at your creative best. It is
also where you should experiment and seek to break new ground. A fruition
or apex access point will arrive when Jupiter conjuncts the south node by
mid August. At that time a door will open. Do what you can now to ensure it's
a door you can walk through with desire, confidence, intactness, grace and
joy.
