Astrological organizations

The Vancouver Society of Astrologers has a brand new website with events, membership information, etc. Find Astrology Galore with two organizations in one area! For your convenience the program and contact information is listed on our site as well. The Guild and VSA both offer reciprocal associate memberships to the members of each group. Join both and get twice the astrology!

Astrology Montreal was founded August 9, 2001 - check out their website. To contact them e-mail Carolyn Joyce who is one of the founding members.

Edmonton Astrological Society has a jazzy website maintained by Inge Lohse - do check it out. We have had a newsletter exchange for years, and we will have one via e-mail soon. If you as our member would like to see a copy send e-mail to Inge or the Guild. The EAS has been around since 1977 - that's a quarter of a century. So I guess the Guild could call them a big sister/brother organization as we haven't quite reached our teens yet. In 2004 we will be thirteen...

The Finnish Astrological Association website has one English Language page, but as I recently joined I want to include the address. They have in excess of 600 members and were founded 1964. One requirement in Finland is the ability to read astrology either in English or in German. And we think getting there can be tough.

OPA Membership is open to any practicing astrologer who wishes to enhance the professional image of astrology and astrologers by connecting with other like-minded professionals. Dues are USD60 per year.

ACVA

The American Council of Vedic Astrology is a non-profit educational organization dedicated to promoting the art and science of Vedic Astrology or Jyotish. The Council was founded in November 1993 and reached non-profit status April 5, 1995.
ACVA is the largest Vedic astrology organization in the West, it is affiliated with the Indian Council of Astrological Sciences (ICAS), founded by Dr. B.V. Raman, and works with Vedic Astrologers throughout the world. The benefits of joining ACVA includes a subscription the the ACVA Journal, a membership directory, ACVA Certification Training and discounts to ACVA events. acva@sedona.net

AFA

The AFA is a worldwide organization of more than 3,500 professional astrologers and astrological laypersons representing all 50 states and 56 countries around the globe. Established in 1938, the AFA oversees accreditation of astrologers, sponsors scientific astrology research, and publishes more astrological books than anyone else in the United States. The AFA is the place to learn about the zodiac, horoscopes, and everything astrological! afa@msn.com

AFAN

Association for Astrological Networking —AFAN is a network linking and informing the international astrological community. With AFAN you will always know what is happening to and for astrologers. AFAN's unique non-hierarchical structure links the local astrologer to the steering committee through regional coordinators and is the foundation of the Network

AFAN membership is $25 per year for Continental US, and $35 (in US funds) outside the US. Membership includes subscription to the AFAN newsletter. Other memberships:

NCGR


On March 6, 1971, a group of Astrologers, Doctors, and Researchers gathered in Massachusetts and founded the National Council for Geocosmic Research, Inc. From that beginning, NCGR has become a global organization with chapters and members all over the world. Current membership consists of more than 40 chapters worldwide, and includes over 3000 members in 26 countries on 6 continents. Local NCGR chapters host study groups, hold monthly lectures, and publish their own newsletters.
NCGR sponsors a four level certification program designed to provide a thorough education in astrology, which includes classes, and tests administered, both at the chapter level and at national conferences. There are study guides and bibliographies available to NCGR members.
