Here we are standing between yesterday's
Summer Solstice (Sun entering the sign Cancer) and Monday's Full
Moon (Moon eclipse). The sign of Cancer is highly energized now
with Sun-Mars-Jupiter visiting for a short while. What a wonderful
opportunity to revive our connection with ourself, our family, our
community, the real and simple in every day life's little gifts.
After the intense world events of the past
many months, it's likely that we'd feel somehow disconnected with
the basic reality of being human. Many have experienced despair
and confusion all over the planet. What a good opportunity now with
the return of summer to use the power of Cancer to remember what
is good, safe and predictable in life. With the Moon in charge of
the sign, it's time to day-dream and to revisit memories of our
own past - several people even feel incline to travel to familiar
places of their past, just for the sake of memory. Remembering moments,
sounds, smells, feelings, stories, intimacy, places, experiences,
magic moments of love connection from the past, this surely would
be food to bring back a sense of joy and hope toward the future.
Yes, life can be rich and beautiful. Let's not forget it when we
are challenged with the shadow of group karma or even facing our
own individual karma.
Chiron, the wounded healer, travels in Capricorn
in opposition to the sign Cancer. On Monday, the Moon will be conjunct
Chiron. The Saturn-Pluto opposition's shadow (the last exact opposition
was on May 28th, 2002) is still floating in the air (RE: articles
posted under Astrological News in www.croftastrologer.com). Everything
invites us to rejoice in the summer's beauty and yet many will still
have sorrow in their heart. This year's Summer Solstice and Full
Moon carry the mix bag of pleasure and pain, that's why it is important
to remember the good times, it helps chasing away bad memories.
Chiron has a way to bring us back right into the deepest truth,
cutting sharp through all our mirages and attachments. Let's imagine
a small child playing with favourite toys, passionately involved
in a game, and unwilling to quit if parents are calling. Now let's
imagine the house is on fire. The parents command the child to come
out and the child refuses to quit the game. We all know that in
such a situation, the parents would forcefully pull the child out
of the room and quickly run out to safety. The child may cry and
feel desperate at the loss of all what was so precious and dear,
all of this now gone in smoke forever. The child might even feel
unloving towards the parents for a while but looking from a distance,
we all understand that saving the life of the little one was the
very best thing to do. The parents symbolizing the "Essential"
cutting through the unreal, through the impermanent!
Well, that would be about the ways of Chiron...
it pulls us forcefully out of the trance of our illusions. The wound
is so sharp; there is nowhere to go but facing it. In facing it,
all what we thought being so important vanishes. The unreal dies
to allow us to rediscover a truth more permanent, a universal truth,
the truth of the unchanging, the truth of the deep within. When
everything is lost, we still have the Source within; we still have
the juice of consciousness leading to our eternal existence. Through
the pain and chaos of the recent Saturn-Pluto opposition, we may
have lost our perspective on what is real and what isn't. The only
permanent thing in the physical reality is that it is impermanent.
Any attachment to anything of this world will inevitably lead to
suffering since everything always comes to pass.
"Being in this world but not of it," a powerful message
of the great Saints constantly proving it's validity. For all of
us, awakening will happen. The evidence that there is no other choice
but seeking communion with Eternal Truth, that it is the only method,
the only way, the very destiny of our existence, this might very
well happen with this Full Moon conjunct Chiron in Capricorn. The
power of the eclipse keeps the energy alive for months ahead.
Capricorn contains our tendencies to judge and to hold something
against another. Capricorn also has the ability to restructure its
methods and to commit to a practice leading to great success. With
Chiron in Capricorn we have the opportunity to understand the negative
effect of division within our global family (Cancer represents family).
A deep awakening into the importance of self-forgiveness for not
having understood this sooner, as well as the necessity to forgive
others could be the very tools for global reunification and to bring
about peace in the world. Capricorn is THE sign valuing COMMITMENT.
Our own commitment to persevere in restructuring our habits of thought
and feelings in order to master our goal of communion with the Eternal
Truth could be the most important and successful project of this
entire season.
Let's remember to love and cherish one another.
Let's remember when it's happy and easy, and let's remember even
more so when it's challenging and confusing. World peace begins
here in the privacy of one's own heart. May we all benefit from
the powerful healing energy of Chiron in this summer season!
Love and Peace!
