On November 2, 2001 a contingent from the
Guild attended the grandfathering ceremonies at Marco Island, Florida.
We had attended the ethics training seminar and taken our exam.
Prior to attending we had each qualified to be certified by ISAR
- the International Society for Astrological Research. Here are
a few snap shots of Phyllis Chubb, M.A., our Vedic columnist
and one of our favourite speakers, Janice Brown, who has
over the years given us numerous talks, edited our newsletter and
been a staunch supporter of our group, and yours truly Anne Massey.
We also had along with us Dr. Beverly Janus,
a Toronto based Astrologer and a long-time friend of Janice's. We
had a wonderful time at the conference and best of all when socializing...
So we each can now add C.A.P. after our names to indicate our astrological
designation.
Janice is particularly fond of the choice
of letters - CAP - as she has CAP rising and her Moon is in Capricorn.
I have Saturn on the MC so that's how I am seen anyway - a Saturnian.
If we gave Phyllis a D to add to her collection we'd have a madcap
- weeell, we already do.

At the conclusion
of the OPA conference - room service was cancelled compliments
of Hurricane Michelle. This did not dampen our spirits - we
braved the windy hallways down to the Sunset lounge for our
dinner. Phyllis Chubb is hiding in the corner - an Aries (tropical)
hiding and wearing red! To the right of Phyllis we have Janice
Brown, Beverley Janus is sitting at the head of the table. Next
to her is Anne Massey and to the right of Anne is Lois Livermore
- Phyl's roomie. |
| The snapshots of the ceremonies
are all a little dark - the colourful dress belongs to Beverly
Janus who is being congratulated by the board of ISAR. Georgia
Stathis and David Cochrane are in the forefront. |

Beverly, Janice and I had a wonderful
time visiting and spent a lot of time into the wee hours of
the night talking astrology and things related. |
| Phyllis is showing off her certificates
- we each got a set - but with one camera between us ... not
all the shots turned out - congratulations Phyllis, Janice,
Anne and Beverly - we at the Guild are proud to have such accomplished
astrologers as our members. |
