Astrowin Basic Calculations,
US Atlas offered by Allan Edwall - downloads quick, good features
Jyotishtools Vedic
charts - excellent for a beginner. Downloads reasonably fast.
Starlight from Kepler - this
one even has an excllent atlas. Downloads fast.
Astrology Software to buy...
Looking for great software - this is the one I have used for a decade.Kepler
also has a freeware software Starlite available on their site

Looking for a correspondence course in astrology - do check out the one offered in nice manageable packages by Joanne Wickenburg. She also has an excellent list of recommended books to help you learn.
Once in a while it is nice to consult the Oracle - Matrix has that feature on their site, as well as their software plus tons more.
The Astrology Matrix, Winstar, Tarot Oracle and more software. Lots of demo programs on this site.
Dr. Don - Carl Payne Tobey is the astrologer who originated the Tobey secondary chart, which the Kepler program calculates for you - it has also been coined the shadow chart. The lessons by Tobey are available on the web for free. There is some interesting material at this site. Elden scouted this site out. (You can also get a vacuum cleaner on this site).

Phyllis Chubb, C.A.P., has a website and her approach is vedic - check it out. Phyllis teaches through the Dirah Academy who have an excellent website with good introductory articles on vedic astrology. Look for Phyl's column on Vedic astrology on this site.

Joanne Wickenburg has a site with excellent articles and a good resource page. I found an astrology program download for vedic - Junior Jyotish on her pages. On the current information side there is an article on Mars retrograde. This site is quickly becoming one of my favourites - good links and updated often.
