QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

Horary astrology answers specific questions from a chart cast for the date, time and place the question was received.

People do not always follow the chart's advice!

This column concerns a woman who met a man and soon after was involved in an intimate relationship. One problem was the distance between them; he lived four hours by car from where she lived. The situation developed over a few months long distance. The man was going through a divorce and it was not going well. He was having financial difficulties and my client loaned him a significant amount of money to help him out.

The boyfriend began to tire of the long distance relationship and the money it cost to travel back and forth. They broke up. However, my client was not ready to let go of the relationship. She called me several times to talk about the situation and what she might do about it.

She called one day to complain that he was late in sending the monthly payments to repay the loan to him. She said she was considering driving to his city to ask him about it. I replied that she was not going because of the money but because she had hopes of rekindling the relationship. After feebly protesting, she admitted that this was the case. She decided she would ask the question about the outcome of a surprise visit.

Following is the question, the chart and the interpretation.

Woman asks: What is the outcome of visiting Bob in person?

The First House always rules the person asking the question. In this case Sagittarius is the rising sign, a sign that rules long distance travel. Jupiter rules the ascendant and is in the Ninth House of long distance travel. Jupiter is in Virgo, a sign of its detriment. This puts her at some disadvantage here.

Let's go back to the First House and take a look at Pluto retrograde there. I don't like Pluto retrograde in the First House of any chart. Pluto rules complications and retrograde it rules complications compounded. It takes a really good chart otherwise to overcome this placement.

Sometimes there are factors in the Horary chart that are so clear that the astrologer has the answer without analyzing every detail, even though they have meaning and add to the whole picture. This is one such chart. What is the one indication in this particular chart that is so obviously the answer that one need go no further?

The Tenth House rules the outcome of the relationship. The Fourth House of the horoscope always rules endings and final outcomes. Every house has its fourth house of outcomes. The outcome house of the Seventh House of relationships is the Tenth House. Libra, a relationship sign, rules the Tenth House. It is ruled by Venus, a relationship planet, and is in the Seventh House of relationships. That is a pretty neatly tied package, isn't it?

The Moon is in Pisces, considered an unfortunate placement in Horary. The Moon applies to only one aspect, a square to Venus. One last observation about the Tenth House, not only does Libra rule the cusp, nine degrees of Libra is there. That is the degree of the fixed star, Vindemiatrix, also known as the Star of Widowhood. How prophetic that is, my client was about to find out.

I told her that she should not go to visit the man in person. If she did, it would end the relationship. (God bless her for testing this out.) She did go and the man was so incensed he ended the relationship once and for all. It was not pretty. Clients do not always follow the chart's advice! For the Horary practitioner it confirms that the charts are right if only the astrologer can read them accurately.
