Horary Astrology

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

Horary astrology answers specific questions from a chart cast for the date, time and place the question was received.

Which chart should I use?

Sometimes after clients ask a horary question they tell me that they have already asked themselves the same question. The rule in horary is that under most circumstances you may ask the same question only once. In this case, the woman was not really able to read her chart, but I used it rather than repeat the question in a second chart.

Woman asks: Will I ever get my old job back?

This client had a job in the States that she had worked very hard to get. It was in the publishing business. When her father fell ill, she quit the job and moved to her father's city to care for him. In the interim, the company she had worked for downsized and eliminated her position. She greatly regretted resigning and wanted to travel in person to try and reinstate herself.

Cancer is rising in this chart. The First House always rules the person asking the question. The planet that rules the ascendant is her significator. In this chart, that is the Moon.

The first step in reading the chart is to determine the houses that are of interest. In this chart, what house rules the old job? Remember that the chart only knows what is in the question itself. The old job is the only one asked about, therefore the Tenth House rules it. Lets not make this complicated. Her Moon must aspect the rulers of the Tenth House to indicate that she will be rehired.

We use both rulers for Pisces, Jupiter and Neptune. The Moon is in no aspect to Jupiter and is leaving a fixed square to Neptune. I think you will agree that she is out of luck. She may as well save the time and money of traveling to her former company to plead her cause.

The Moon's last aspect reveals how the matter will end. The Moon's last aspect is a sextile to Saturn. I don't see that as bringing her the old job back but maybe we can give the client some good news with the bad news. I told her that she would find other employment. Take note of Uranus near the Midheaven. I think the activity of Uranus going direct and applying to trine Jupiter may bring an unexpected offer.

The next job is the Twelfth House and I have often been able to describe the next job accurately using that house. There are two signs ruling the Twelfth House, Taurus and Gemini. I told her there would be two jobs. Venus rules Taurus and is in zero degrees. The early degree says it is too early for now and needs time to mature. Mercury rules the next one, which may well put her back in a job as a writer as before.

You will find that all charts are not complicated requiring a lot of extensive analysis of details. Many charts are like this one. Simply identify the appropriate rulers and see if they aspect each other. I knew this client would be very upset with the answer so I went poking around for some positive information to cheer her up
