Timeline: April 18, 2005
Mars has finally moved away from Neptune, the fog has lifteddoes it not feel nice?
This weekend gone by we had wonderful astrological events. Thursday night April 14, Robert P. Blaschke presented a talk on Karmic astrology to a record number of attendees. We only had a few vacant seats in our meeting room, which comfortable seats 50 people. The audience was delighted with the presentation, and fresh insights into the subject. The casette tape or the video is available for rental to our members. There were two casettes, non-members may purchase these for USD20. The video tape is priced at CAD45+shipping.
We had our first ever Professional Development Seminar Friday April 15, 2005. Robert shared his methods of forecasting for clients to twelve astrologers. This talk was taped on audio only. The tapes are available to members only.
On Saturday we had a medical astrology workshop with Robert. He presented a wealth of material to a room filled with eager minds.
The presentation was captured on video and audio. The casettes are available for rental to our members only. The video can be purchased by non-members. Cost USD45+shipping and handling.

Canadian Astrological Accreditation
For the first time in British Columbia students of astrology have the opportunity to sit for a standardized examination. The exam will be offered simultaneously in Toronto, Winnipeg and Calgary--ours of course will be in the Vancouver, BC, area.
Astrological Certification
The Canadian Association for Astrological Education CAEE is
dedicated to granting credible certification to practitioners across Canada
by providing standardized courses, examination, teacher training and mentorship.
The exams on May 14, 2005 are administered by Anne Massey but marked and evalutated by CAAE. Certificates are issued upon successful completion of the exam. A passing mark is 70% or higher.
Level I: 9:30 AM - 12:30 PM Cost: CAD30
Tests your understanding of signs, glyphs, elements, modes and basic delineation.
True/False and short answer questions.
Level II: 9:30AM - 12:30AM & 1:30 - 4:30PM
2 x 3 hours; Cost: CAD40
Tests your understanding of chart delineation based on two sample charts provided.
Knowledge of focal points, chart and aspect patterns; modes, elements, hemispheres,
empty houses, unaspected planets and interceptions; critical degrees, derivative
houses and the major asteroids. Essay format and short answer questions. Completion
of level II does not constitute professional competence. Level III Exam is
the next step.
Level III Exam 6 hours; Cost: CAD40
9:30AM - 12:30AM & 1:30 - 4:30PM
Tests knowledge of natal planets, transits, solar returns, solar arcs and
secondary progressions. Achievement at this level demonstates a high level
of astrological proficiency. Full chart delineation is expected. Essays and
short answer questions. In order to successfully pass this exam you need to
be proficient in predictive as well as natal chart delineation work. This
exam can be offered to practising astrologers on a case by case basis.
Limited seats available for writing the exams. The same exams are written
by students and practitioners in Winnipeg, Calgary and Toronto on the same
day.

Scholarship
We have set up a scholarship fund at the Guild. If you are a member in good
standingthat means your dues are paid up as of April 14, 2005, you are
eligible to apply for a scholarship to pay for the exam fee. Please, submit
your request in writing to the treasure of the Guild, Shauna Bisgaard by April
30, 2005.
The next opportunity to write the exam at levels I-III is November 2005, the date is yet to be announced. It will be a Saturday. Anne will offer a course in preparation for levels II and III in the Autumn 2005.
Guild News:
I have yet to schedule speakers or a roundtable for July, August and Octoberany
ideas? I have nade plans for a workshop in September 2005 with Chris McRae
from Edmonton. Chris was here in 2004, and her well attended workshop has
brought in the reqest to have her back. What would you like the topic of the
workshop to be?
I have talked to Neil Anthes who is willing to offer a Saturday Seminar on Financial Astrology in November.
There is a lot of interest from speakers to come into town to present talks and workshops, what kind of topics would you like hear and do you have a speaker in mind youd like the Guild to invite?
I have talked with Dorothy Oja, CAP ISAR about a possibility of having her come to town for a talk and a workshop. Dorothy has written an astrological report for Kepler software about relationships. Would you be interested in that subject?
I would also like to invite Jungian Analyst Christine Becker author of the Heart of the Matter on Ethics; to present a workshop on Ethics in Counselling. I invite you to call me and talk about what programming you would like to see in 2005-2006.

We will continue with our monthly raffle to accumulate funds for our Scholarship
