Julie Kelly
returned to talk ton us about Aging and the process we go through
in terms of astrological configurations. On Saturday we had
a workshop on the same topic. Talk about putting things in perspective
starting with Chiron, ending with the second Saturn return.
How much can you do in a one day workshop, well when it is lead
by a Gemini, lots and lots. We covered other topics with equal
intensity during breaks, and at dinner. It was a delight, until
next year Julie. Thank you for sharing your views and wealth
of experience. Workshop was taped for those interested in learning
more. |

Phyllis gave
us another delightful talk followed by an intensive workshop
on Nakshatras. We learned new stuff in leaps and bounds, thank
you Phyllis for so freely sharing your insights. We will obviously
revisit these and other topics down the road... No tapes were
made. |

Marelon
Bjorkaes gave us a thought-provoking lecture on the Process
of Pluto - not just the theory but the experience. For two hours
the audience sat enraptured listening to Marelon's insights
into the realm of the God of the Underworld. Marelon's ready
laughter broke the tense subject matter, and one audience member
commented that when Marelon laughed it was as if a little girl
sat on the stool rather than the speaker Marelon, who has practised
astrology for many decades. The talk was taped for the benefit
of those who could not make it. Thank you Marelon for taking
the time to travel all the way to Vancouver just to share of
your wisdom. Marelon is our regular humour
columnist and regular contributor. She is available
for private consultations and is also a skilled
healer both in person and at distance. |

Phyllis gave
us a delightful talk on the Karakas in the chart. Hands on lecture
that was full of "meat". On Saturday we had a great
workshop on this topic and covered the charts of most participants.
Each one of us felt we walked away with a valuable tool in hand.
We will have another workshop with Phyl in August
to continue to explore the Nakshatras. The talk was taped, the

Phyllis
Chubb, M.A., CAP arrived directly from the OPA conference
she attended in Florida. Phyllis gave us a delightful introduction
to the Nakshatras - she brought them to life! Offered some wonderful
insights, and gave us the tools for learning more. A tape was
made. In 2002 Phyllis will be back to give us a workshop on
the subject. Phyllis has a basic vedic section on this site
and will be launching her Vedic Corner column later this month.

Julie Kelly
came, saw and conquered ... Julie gave us a wonderful talk on
comparability. She enlightened us about our modes of relating
based on her practise of astrology, which has spanned 42 years!
We took our standard social break when this Gemini lady paused
for the first time ... It is always so delightful to hear the
voice of experience over theory. In September 2002 Julie will
be back to give us a talk and a workshop on astrology and aging.
The Pluto in Leo generation does need that we don't measure
looks in terms of beauty but in terms of how young we manage
to look. Thank you, Julie it was a delight. The tapes of the

Mark Gemmill gave us a wonderful talk on the Astronomy of
Astrology. He really brought the heavens, spheres and the
various house systems "down to earth" enlivening
his presentation with beautiful graphics and the piece de
resistance was the model he had made of the solar system.
Thank you Mark - it was phenomenal ... To whet our appetite
Mark also presented a visual of Mars setting on the chart
wheel and in the cosmos ... not what we'd expect.The talk
was recorded and is available at the library, however, without
the visuals something will be left unseen... There is a website

Maurice McCanngave us
an excellent talk and presentation on the Importance of the
Sun. Always the one to come up with new old points to ponder.
He made excellent arguments for the Sun being the controller.
Had you stopped to think that the Sun is the one that sets the
parameters for retrogradation of the planets ...(What about
if Ptolemy had devised his rulership scheme downunder in Australia,
where the Sun is its hottest at the Winter Solstice - how would
our horoscopes look? If you missed this one, it is on tape.

Phyllis Chubb, M.A. gave us a wonderful talk on the various
ascendants used in vedic astrology. With two major players
retrograde - we were initially locked out of our meeting room
- Phyl started her talk at the restaurant, and without missing
a beat continued at our meeting premises some 20 minutes later.
