When it comes to money and investing, I'm sure we all wish we had a crystal ball. While we astrologers don't like to be lumped into the category of fortune tellers, I'll bet many financial speculators wish they could own a monopoly on this talent. There are many branches of astrology and some of you more skeptical types would probably be surprised to know that financial astrology is a very active and widely respected field of study.
Like all analysts, astrologers study trends and cycles. When it comes to business and finance, we study birth charts of companies and assess dates for optimum stellar influences. According to astrologers, blessed be those astute individuals who mark the exact clock time for the company "birth", or an important transaction or communiqué.
Yes, time to get off my soap box. Quite right. So what does the year ahead look like? The Chinese call this the Year of the Monkey and which is an apt description for the "anything goes" mercurial feel of this upcoming year. While my advice will always be not to gamble with what you can't afford to loose, the stars favor aggressive risking taking and the stout of heart. Planets Uranus, Venus and Pluto are the current ticket takers for the roller coaster ride. Uranus has just moved into the water sign of Pisces, where it will stay for the next seven years. This planet is one of invention, reinvention, liberation, shock waves, trends and surprises - it emphasizes anything new, improved or updated. Under the rulership of Uranus comes anything to do with oil, gas, water, atmosphere, mining (world class diamonds in our northern tundra, etc.), and research and development - especially in the areas of biotechnology. Uranus in Pisces also represents the drug and alcohol, music, film making and fashion (especially cosmetics and perfumes) industries. Uranus in Pisces ignites both the collective attunement and also the trend or "hysteria" consciousness of the masses. We can be easily lured, mesmerized, bought and sold, especially during the months while "pretty package" Venus tenants the sign of "quick talking" Gemini (April through August). Watch April 30 through the first two week of May for a lot of action and change in speculative fields. Venus is again highly activated (by planet Pluto) again May 31 to June 4. Venus in Gemini will highly favor all tele-communications and transportation industries. Also included are education, media, publishing and gaming. With the revamping influence of Pluto in the sign of Sagittarius underscoring all, dramatic reversals and large scale mergers are also a signature of the current stellar influences. Venus in Gemini is a time of mobilizing, circulating and getting better connected. Change isn't a risk to take, but a guarantee for successful survivability. This influence shows positive for increasing and diversifying sales agents, marketing strategies, promotional activities and advertising. At the time of this writing comes the purchase of the Hollinger Publishing Empire (Pluto in Sagittarius) by reclusive (Uranus in Pisces) twins (Gemini). Pluto and Uranus are also influences that will activate our growing activities in space exploration. Jupiter's travel through Virgo (now through Sept) favors continuing concentration on alternative health, environmental clean up and recycling. September onward as Jupiter changes sign, consumable products and services come to the foreground.
While Saturn lends steadiness to Uranus' wild side, it is also the planet
currently plaguing the US dollar. Even with Mercury retrograde (astrology's
Murphy's Law) in effect, April will likely see a boost begin, with more progress
being made in May, June and onward. This year may see rallying of the US economy,
but expect more bounce back throughout 2005/2006. Both Canada and the US are
Cancer born countries. Saturn, currently moving through the cautious and fearful
sign of Cancer, is the planet astrologers deem responsible for hardships,
economic shortages and downturns. Planet Jupiter, on the other hand, is responsible
for optimism, growth and buoyancy. With this planetary pair making good negotiating
progress end of April onward, prospects will be looking up. Normally considered
a quieter time in the money markets, August appears to be activated by the
stars. October is likely to be an uneven month, but stellar influences see
the year finishing on a positive note.
Now through September, it's a time to invest in the cleanup routine. Get better educated, be discriminating in time usage and output of effort. While there is much to work with and for, make your choices in favor quality over quantity. Streamline, focus. Concentrate on grooming, planting, and laying of foundations. An important stage is being set. Venus moving through Gemini (April through August) attracts much, helps you to make better connections and opens plenty of prospects for your consideration. Your real bonus comes when Jupiter moves out of the apprenticeship sign of Virgo and into the cake eating sign of Libra by September, opening you to more financial, social and romantic abundance.
After all the stellar turbulence you have had to deal with while Uranus played havoc on your chart, you'll be pleased to know that the stars are smiling on you now, dear Taurus. Jupiter's abundance influence on your chart is definitely something to smile about. Entrepreneurial activities are blessed. Venus, your ruling planet, is in good shape on an ongoing basis, helping you to draw more favorable circumstances. April through August is an especially fertile time for investments and amassing (unfortunately you can find the weight scale going up too). You'll find it easier now to entertain new ideas, prospects and relationships. Open, launch and position as much as possible now, while the stars grace you with easy and opportunity. Jupiter moving into Libra in September brings a time of adjustment, rebalancing, reassessing, fine tuning and productivity.
New goals and directions that were introduced at the start of the year will be getting into fuller swing March onward. Energizing Mars through your sign March 22 to May 7, puts you into firecracker mode. Take a cautionary note through April while Mercury is retrograde. This influence is good for severing ties and freeing up, but wait until end of the month to launch, confirm and sign. Venus touring through Gemini, April through August, graces you with an extended period of stellar opportunity. An ongoing influence, Uranus will create new challenges. Pushy stars force you to become a sharper mover and shaker. You'll have little choice but to reinvent your wheel. Starting in September for a glorious one year tour, Jupiter's travel through harmonious and prosperous Libra will bring sunshine and roses your way.
Saturn moving through your sign until July of 2005 can be experienced as a sobering and/or maturing cycle. Saturn is considered the "school of hard knocks" planet. Duty, responsibility and lack of easy options and/or mobility characterize its influence. While Saturn isn't a joy ride planetary influence, it is the shrewd mountain goat gloating at the top of the mountain. Yes, hard work and ambition are rewarded handsomely. Boosted by the synchronistic influence of Uranus in Pisces, watch for naturally unfolding circumstances to carry you gracefully through to the next level. July through September ignite productive and generating stellar influences. Jupiter's travel through Virgo is supportive to your learning curve and self improvement program. Moving into Libra in September, personal assets, home situations/investments and your overall happiness factor are nicely boosted.
Pluto's tour through Sagittarius gives you an extended run of privileged stars. Having said this, you still face plenty of uncertainty with planet Uranus presenting many either/or fork in the road challenges. Uranus surprises you, keeps you on the edge, and tests your faith in your decision making process. Jupiter's movement through Virgo now to September finds you stoking plenty of fires with plenty of irons. To be sure, you'll be investing a lot more than your hard earned dollars. While diversity is great, concentrate on being more selective and effective. Jupiter in Virgo favors good profit potential on the undervalued (including the fixer upper and currently ailing) and the overlooked. Intuition serves you well re the buy low, sell high scenario. April through August, Venus blesses entrepreneurs, promoters, sellers, agents, communicators, lovers and social butterflies.
You are moving through major stellar thresholds this year, dear Virgo. You could be relocating or significantly changing your relationship (business and/or personal) which in turn affects your financial status and financial holdings. Don't stand in the way of progress, dear Virgo. Spread your wings and fly. Things are not supposed to remain the same. Venus moves through your career sector from April to August, places additional attention on getting ahead and making a name for your self. This influence helps you to increase visibility and will make others sit up and take notice. An upgraded position with more authority, or a more diversified role to play is quite possible. Part time jobs can be a viable alternative. Liaison activities and business mixed with pleasure are to your great benefit. Uranus, highly activated in your chart, puts you into an accelerated pace and holds you there. August is a marker transition month for you; September puts you into even higher gear.
Uranus now progressed into Pisces creates a constructive "burr in your saddle" feel. Restlessness, dissatisfaction and the need for refreshment send you into an exploratory mode. Yes, there is room for improvement. Jupiter moving through Virgo until September suggests taking your time to study the map. Apprenticeship, research and study is to your great benefit. Send out your feelers, but develop your game plan further before you start to broadcast. Guard your hidden aces until the appropriate moment appears. You'll know when it does. Venus touring through Gemini (April through August) is your bonus time - with May looking especially fine. Accept all invitations, travel, promote, woo and play. Jupiter moving into Libra in September (for a one year stay) puts you in the driver's seat/increases abundance, harmony and delight.
You are the stellar darling, dear Scorpio. Uranus moving through Pisces delivers the exceptional. Opportunities are wide open. It's up to your creativity and desire to set a course and go. You'll make waves no matter what direction you choose. Reputation and notoriety are worth grooming/are likely to grow. With Saturn's stepping stone influence solidly placed in your chart, you can expect that which is building is here to stay. Of course a certain amount of risking taking is involved. Watch the influence of Venus through Gemini (April through August) as a time for modification, diversity and rearrangements. You'll need to keep a lot of balls in the air. Explore everything, keep all your options open and keep your people connections lively. During this time frame you'll find doors closing and new ones opening. There's no time to waste and no reason to dwell on losses with so many viable and immediate replacements appearing.
Uranus moving through Pisces can add to your restless urges and unsettledness, but Saturn's current holding pattern in Cancer will keep you anchored and tied to one spot. You'll see the wisdom in staying put, narrowing your focus and making a deeper commitment. In fact, in doing so, you'll actually feel a level of comfort that you probably haven't felt for awhile. Within this smaller selection, there will still be much variety and choice. August is likely to produce a big change or redirection. You may have to make more with less - at least temporarily. This influence can likely signify a location, education and/or career move and also a significant change within the family. Jupiter in Virgo may have created circumstantial (and/or health) complications. By September, Jupiter's sign change to Libra opens it up for you and bodes well for financial increase.
While Uranus moved through Aquarius (over the past seven years) a new direction and a new you have been under construction. Some of you have been open to the process; some of you have been dragged through it. Financial holdings and personal assets have had to be reinvented. Remaining barriers now fall by the wayside as Uranus in Pisces teams beautifully with Saturn in Cancer. You'll align with the right people, networks and sources. It's important to keep your connections lively and active. End of Feb. through March are a time of golden opportunity. Much can be nicely anchored. Venus through Gemini (April through August) is time of working through a learning curve. You'll have more than enough to keep you busy and on the go. Promote, sell, travel, groom, negotiate, legalize and try everything while good news Jupiter continues through Virgo. Make your presence known and secure your spot. Jupiter's movement into Libra in the fall can increase the competition. Make sure you have the competitive edge already set.
Uranus, your ruling planet, moving through the sign of Pisces is introducing you to a whole new lifestyle. Exciting personal discoveries, new talents, capacities and financial resources are emerging, providing you with a solid new foundation from which to build. This fast pace and amassing trend will continue, so you might as well get used to it. The stars are delivering wonderfully for you now, dear Pisces. It's time to put the past well behind you and leap into a bright new future. Uranus will remain in your sign for the next seven years, offering much to get excited about. Let creativity and desire have a free reign. You are not meant for an ordinary life. Choose exceptional. Your birth month shows good financial prospects. You are encouraged to take on a new job, client, investment or relationship. Feel free to sign contracts and make significant commitments. Saturn's in Cancer will provide an added level of security, safety and self assurance. April through August brings a time of fluctuation and personal growth. This can be a time when you may invest in more than one property or update/enhance the one you have. Rentals/rental property show positive financial increase. Jupiter's progress in to Libra September onward brings a lovely boost to financial and romantic partnerships.
