Connectivity is the focus of 2005. How do you access and honor your relationship to yourself, to your significant other, to your family, to the people you interface with on a daily level? How do you relate to the roles you play and the ones that you aspire to create? How do you uphold your beliefs? Do you create a self-fulfilling prophecy of disappointment or do you face your truths with courage and a sense of evolving excitement? Must you stretch yourself between your own needs and that which others require, demand, or ask of you? Can an easier balance be achieved? On a collective level, we will learn crucial lessons regarding our relationship to our neighbors, our planet and the worlds beyond. Saturn traveling through the sign of Cancer until mid July (along with Chiron currently in Capricorn) intensifies our search for (and anxiety regarding) emotional and economic security. Saturn's entrance into Leo for the last half of the year will reward those who have created well and challenge those who have not. Jupiter traveling through Libra (until the end of October) continues to strive for balance and equality. The next eighteen months brings a critical cycle of learning regarding how to create independence yet also achieve cooperative relatedness (see my next article on the nodal axis shift into the signs of Aries/Libra). The voyage of 2005 will take us deeper into uncharted territory. It's the journey of a lifetime - make bountiful provisions, stand up for what you believe in and don't let anyone stop you from achieving all that you deserve.
Mars generates a great forward thrust, launching a dynamic start to 2005. For some a January vacation restores a new lease on life. For others, second honeymoons/new relationships, educational opportunities, career highs, market expansion or relocation are the curry on your rice. This is not the time to sit back and wait for life to show up. Hop a plane, a gravy train or whatever. This is an important year for pushing the envelope and for forging ahead. The next eighteen months brings a primary focus on rebalancing your comfort zones/personal needs with relationship needs. Over the shorter haul, end of January could take you to a whole new level. February brings a month of adjustment and plenty of new groundbreaking. Jupiter in Libra helps you to easily knock down old walls and to build better structures, especially February/March. By summer much of the hard work and growing pains will be out of the way. Saturn's entrance into Leo by mid July will start a most excellent two and half year cycle of reward and reaping.
Your growth curve continues this year - pretty much from all directions and all at the same time. Saturn's tour through Cancer dictates redefinition through confronting your emotional security. Jupiter's tour through Libra keeps you searching for better - from yourself and everyone else. Essentially it's the same side of the coin. What are you getting out of your social network, your job, your daily routine, your health regimes or spiritual practices? Is it enough? In formal studies, or participating in the school of life, you are in a very important apprenticeship year. Roll up your sleeves, apply yourself now. Rewards will come when both Saturn and Jupiter make advances mid to late 2005. There is no time to waste on the mediocre. Your best effort is required - if best is what you want to gain. 2005 gets off to a flying start. Expect it to keep going strong. Those of you born between June 26 and July 3 are in for an especially big year - some of you may be taken by storm. A dramatic structural change in your profession, family dynamic, or parenting role is likely. Life will fly at an accelerated pace and can very easily dish out more than you expect. Synchronicity works magic, especially when you are not over-invested in outcome. Uranus in Pisces can bring a (desired) "shake up". If you can't buy into the system, you may be more successful in creating one for yourself. Yes, it's a good time to consider opening your own business. If it falls into place easily, then you will know you have made wise choices. If you are forcing and forging ahead, it's best not to even get started. Marriage is likely for some, divorce for others. Whether you embrace a sweetheart or learn to love yourself more, Jupiter in Libra expands blessings until October. This wonderful planetary energy is exceptionally abundant for those in creative fields, or for those thinking about having children.
The year starts with a major renovation project - namely your life. Recent events may be forcing your hand and sending you deeper into the trenches. You can't afford to retreat and lick your wounds. Rather it's a time to rip the band aid off and replace it with fresh dressing. Mars in Sagittarius could keep you on a job search through most of January. While waiting for the phone call, get to the gym and get yourself healthy. Exercise and diet programs are likely to produce faster than usual results - increased willpower is one of your greatest resources. Jupiter in Libra suggests it's a good time to take on roommates or renters, to renovate or to relocate. Thinking of buying a home or a business? Pretty much any time is ideal for big steps forward - outside of mid July through mid August and mid November to mid December. April/May can bring threshold decisions and turning points. Be it a career direction, finances, relationship, or concerning children, what ever you lock in will be what you will live with for sometime to come. Saturn's entrance into Leo by mid summer will finally put the reigns back in your hand, helping you to feel more confident, successful and in control. Jupiter's entrance into Scorpio at the end of October begins a thirteen month reward cycle of happier days, love, financial and creative abundance.
Mercury, Venus, Mars and Pluto help you to ring in the new year in high style. Your stars are simply in stellar shape. Creating a (bigger) name for yourself, sports, vacation/play, making money or spending it, travel, children and sweet romance - your stars are in simply stellar shape. Wonderful new opportunities are on the horizon. While taking it on (and putting it on too) is easy, realize abundance can also burden you - the work soon follows. You may not notice Saturn's hardball until you get to your birthday month. Then you may feel the strain of all that you have committed to. While this isn't necessary a bad thing, it's imperative to plan ahead and not to ignore your health. Precautionary or preventative steps are wise. Single? Keep circulating. Your popularity/fame and romantic prospects will continue to thrive with Jupiter in Libra. Saturn's entrance into your sign mid July will create the necessity or desire to pull back from flying the high wire, in order to devote more attention to financial priorities, children or new loves. Jupiter will enter Scorpio in November, sending you into a cozy thirteen month of nesting and lifestyle redesign.
Putting your personal affairs in order or putting your property on the market - you are likely to face a big game plan right from the get go as this year starts. Once you get back from vacation, that is. The first quarter of the year is exceptionally busy. By choice or by force, change at home and/or at work keeps you on a faster track and far away from boredom. Uranus in Pisces continues to "shake, not stir", especially for those born Aug. 27 to Sept. 3. New people and financial opportunities will present themselves, or new dynamics in existing (personal or business) partnerships will open up - sometimes gloriously, sometimes painfully. Separation is not unlikely/is wise for already faltering relationships. Saturn's retrograde motion to mid March puts you in a dismantling, revamping and preparing new soil mode. Jupiter's tour through Libra (to October) is a wonderfully creative and fertile influence. Financial gain and personal happiness can double once this abundance planet returns to forward motion in June. Quality over quantity, Saturn's progress in Leo (mid July) and Jupiter's entrance into Scorpio (late October) finds you with greater self definition, confidence, personal resilience and gaining from the best your life has to offer.
Expansion planet Jupiter blesses your sign until late October. While much can and probably will remain the same (thanks to Saturn's anchors and/or restrictions), Jupiter introduces many new variables and potentials to experiment with. Once this planetary energy moves into the sign of Scorpio (by end of October), you will be ready to dive in deeper, to make a more significant commitment - financially, personally and intimately. Until then, don't say no until you have given it a look/see. Saturn's current placement in Cancer helps you to stay steady and to persevere, but can also come with the price of feeling limited, burdened or even depressed. You will be happy to note that confidence builder Saturn will become your greatest asset when it moves into the radiant sign of Leo by mid July. Another significant relating cycle has also just begun. While it is a collective experience, it is especially related to your sign. Over the next eighteen months, the challenge of accessing your personal needs and of maintaining a well defined sense of self through the vehicle of relationship (personal and business) will take you through a key karmic threshold and a very important primary life lesson.
Uranus and Saturn have opened up your life in tremendous ways. Your creativity and manifesting ability continues to absolutely soar. Grab that brass ring with both hands. These two planets will continue to bring wealth to both your professional and personal life, especially through the first half of this year while Saturn (to have) continues through Cancer (to hold.) In retrograde to end of March, Saturn may keep things at a (nice) plateau. End of March through mid July is likely to produce a harvest time. The first two weeks of January are potentially excellent money makers. (Conversely, the money could easily be drained by incoming bills.) Aspects for lighting good fires are abundant through the beginning of February. Promote yourself, your products or your services. Travel for business or pleasure is highly recommended. Legal affairs (including marriage contracts) are likely to be a feature throughout the year. Maintaining an even higher profile, garnering respect, becoming a parent, an authority, expert or famous one will become even more underscored when Saturn moves into Leo by mid July. Re love, children and creative enterprise, Uranus is set to deliver five more years of exceptional luck. Open your arms wide!
Mars in your sign to Feb.6 is a wonderful revitalizing influence - physically, emotionally, romantically and circumstantially. You are likely to feel as though you have been just released from your cage. Watch the last week in January for the stakes to go up - perhaps way up. Mars will team with Pluto for added intensity - something forceful will come at you, or be ignited from deep within you. This can bring a "life or death" moment and the likelihood of an extreme change followed by a dynamic new beginning. Uranus continues to keep your foundations with a constant edgy-ness and unsettled feeling (especially those born between Nov. 26 and Dec. 3). You will have to contend with Saturn's restrictive or holding pattern influence until mid July. This influence forces you to work harder in the finance and romance departments, but you are wise enough to know that extra effort will result in desired and substantial gain. The burdens will lift and the riches will arrive when Saturn embarks on its next two and one half year stint through the joyous "all good things are mine" sign of Leo. Jupiter's entrance into Scorpio in November ignites a deeper passion for life in general - and perhaps for a special someone.

Financially, professionally or relationship wise, the investments you groom (from Feb. through June especially) are your path to liberation/will grow deeper and richer as Jupiter enters Scorpio in the late fall. Neptune eases you through this reorientation cycle in a relatively smooth and wonderfully liberating fashion. March and August see easy accessing/find it falling beautifully into place.
You have probably witnessed a significant shift in your life over the past couple of months. You can thank Jupiter in Libra for opening the window. This benefic influence will continue to provide a breath of fresh air through the fall. Teaching/higher education, consulting, relocation, travel, new relationships or a new vocational focus, stock market activity and successful legal advances, increased personal profile, marketing, media, publishing and spiritual questing all come under Jupiter's expansion jurisdiction. February and March bring a brewing or budding stage. Synchronicity grows even stronger April to August, as "go" planet Mars launches a new two year cycle for your sign. It's important to risk big now. Accomplish as much restructuring and clean up as you can in this first half of the year. Develop specialized talents and employment skills, heal your body, heart and mind. You will benefit from positioning yourself as best as you can to maximize on Saturn's tour through Leo beginning in August (for two and one half years). Either you will find yourself wonderfully well anchored - financially, circumstantially and romantically, or you will feel you are coming up empty handed. Don't waste a moment. Speculative financial activities and romance will improve once Jupiter moves into Scorpio late October. Until then, it can be a tricky rollercoaster ride. Saturn will continue to be your ally, even more so once it returns to direct motion late March. To August, this planetary energy can help you to establish greater self confidence leading to greater success in professional activities and creative enterprises and all relationship categories (children included).
