his vocation until 1998, when it became his full time occupation.
He was born in Avonlea, Saskatchewan at
8:09 PM on January 20, 1939. He was a poet who speaks in the
medieval tradition and was in the process of finishing an
epic poem using the Astrological Archetypes as characters.
Rudy passed onto spirit July 9, 2002 at 18:20 at Lake Louise
in a fatal car accident.

I am not Wicca, do not practice The Art,
But have my own craft, art of my heart.
I never knew, never planned, just became.
God smiled at me - made me lame;
Made me take poverty's way
Giving me more time in the day
For quiet study and introspection,
And Astrology became my way of Perfection.
Astrology is not a Secret Science.
It is open to any who are able to know.
It is hidden from those who cannot make sense
Of the sky's intricate, planetary show.
Timing and Synchronicity work hand in hand
And Astrology is how you measure that land
And Aquarius, who is the Astrologer's Sign
Pours the knowledge of his trade like precious wine
To slake the thirst of any who care:
With his kind of drink he will lay bare
The craftsmanship that will assist
The casting of spells that will persist.
So, as I sat by the Fires of the Phoenix one day
When Britt the Witch came a visit to pay
And asked me to divulge some secrets to assist
The Wicca in doing what they wist,
I agreed to a solemn discourse
On the merits of Astrology in using their force,
Those energies they loose to return to their home
And come back to them from the Unknown
In the form of that which was desired
By the ritual performed, suitably attired.
The Pattern written in the cosmic sand
When they gather together in familial band
Or stand alone in candlelight
Making magic that is white
-Not of self-interest being set free,
This is why I give to thee
-In my trust I take your hand
And pass to you what I understand.
The system may be used for good or ill.
The criminal can use Astrology to effect his will.
But rarely do you ever find
An Astrologer with a criminal mind.
Evil takes the easy way out
-Astrology's too hard for that kind of lout.
Its rewards are meager -no pay-off there
-Easier to make it in auto-repair.
In the short term you can't use it to rob
Some lucky gal with a well-paying job.
When one casts a spell, one should take note
Of the positions of the planets - they have their vote
On whether it be successful or not.
If the time be square, the Energie is caught
-Directed off course by planetary power
-Not returning in that lucky shower.
The planets move at a steady pace
And the angles they form as they race
Around Helios, that Solar Fire
Have their effect on what you desire.
Some times are most effective - others not,
And the best time for the ritual should be sought,
Making allies of the planets in what you do
Assurance that the best effect may ensue.
The Moon for magic is most important of all.
Well-aspected, the Lords will come at your call.
But square, or quincunx the ruler of the matter
Or not in aspect, then for all your patter
Your ritual will be a whisper to their ears
-Without the Moon's help, it can drift for years.
No success comes when Moon is void of course.
Having made its last aspect, it loses its force
Your spell lost in the making, and when it comes back
It won't be to help you with anything you lack.
Mercury retrograde is another thing
To avoid unless you are trying to bring
Some lost item back into view
And then it might be the best time to Do.
Mercury rules papers, and communication
And spells bringing you out of isolation.
People younger than yourself come to mind
And Mercury must be properly aligned
In respect to the Moon, and to the Ascendant
-The time chosen, that is, for what is intended.
In things of money, romance as well
Venus is important - her aspects will tell
Your if there be luck and success
-Especially to the Moon - take not less.
And when casting the spell, of Jupiter take note.
If allied to Venus he'll add his vote
To the success of what you create
If in conjunction or trine, luck is innate.
And if romance be the concern
Venus applying to Mars in trine will turn
Your ritual into a gravity well
Attracting whom you need, as if he fell
Into your life by coincidence
And Astrology can tell you whence
He comes - what month, what day,
Even the hour can come into play.
Mars rules action, and the man in your life,
Swords and knives, and issues of strife.
Be careful of your honour, in what you will
And aspects to Uranus must wait until
They are positive, and Jupiter as well
And take note of Saturn, he can make hell
Or stop the spell in its tracks,
For squaring Mars, it's action blocks.
When Mars is retrograde - it's a good time
For your man to return to those arms of thine.
But make sure transiting Moon is in trine
With Mars in the sky when you speak your rhyme
And Venus and Mars should aspect well
But most important is for you to tell
Whether Destiny says you should be together
-Not because you want it - but because of a Tether
That keeps the two of you circling around
Otherwise you two should be outward bound.
Retrograde Mars means difficulty in
Anything of Action - there is no win
But danger of reaction in unpleasant way
And when quincunx the Moon, you should never say
Words of Power at that time
But wait until you get a trine.
A chart should be made for the time of day
And the Ascendant should be in a Sign that will say
The reason for the spell that you cast
For the Signs are in what the planets are dressed.
The Ascendant in Aries is action to take
And spells of protection what you need to make.
Iron and Fire can be the great concern
And of adventures and daring you may learn.
In Taurus are possessions, things of the field
And Pentacles are what you should wield
Crystals and Stones precious to the Earth
And of her Plenty should be no dearth.
In Gemini are messages, and youth
Mercury trine Neptune for absolute truth
It rules the lungs, so for good health
A ritual in Gemini is better than wealth.
In Cancer are women, things of the home
Main floor of the house, Moon sets the tone.
Water which is moving, river or stream
Poured out of a cup, caught in Sun's beam.
In Leo is romance, and if the Sun be here
Your romantic partner may be near.
If you want gold, choose House number five
The Sun within makes your wish come alive.
In Virgo, are papers and writing, and horticulture,
Gardening and herbs, so health may not suffer
Good hard work, and service for naught
But the love of Service, thus is she caught.
In Libra is your partner, and legal agreement
Fine art and romance set in cement
Saturn is here exalted, duty held high
Staying with marriage, not asking why.
Scorpio rules things out of sight
The Underworld, the Cellar, out of the light
Death, and money belonging to another
Like legacies, from father or mother.
Sagittarius is the foreigner, traveler from afar
From Higher Learning to Wisdom - following his star
Universities, and Courts of Law
He is the teacher, and that Judge you saw.
Capricorn rules governments and bureaucrats
For him, careful planning is where it's at.
If anything can go wrong, it surely will.
Capricorns have to swallow a bitter pill.
But here lies material success
At the top of the mountain, no less.
The Ascendant in Aquarius, freedom rules
And the future, God's favourite fools.
If you look for lost articles, by electrical outlet
It rules the computer, and sudden upset
Because of Uranus who breaks up the old
And a quincunx here makes impossible to hold
That which wants to cleave away
So think very carefully what you say.
Uranus rules earthquakes, and Lightning storms
And violent arguments, it never forms
A stable structure - Capricorn's role
So avoid its use if you want to make whole
But if you want psychic perception
And if you be in a state of reception
Uranus can strike with knowledge unknown
In a blinding flash you can be shown
What you need in psychic insight.
For a moment you can be in the Light.
The Ascendant in Pisces, look for things of the Sea
Lakes and still water, a mirror to thee
Uncover things of the Past, things illusionary
Drugs and Drink, and music, and places you go
For mental health, and hospitals, and places of woe.
Cups are what you need to collect
The potent power of Neptune, and need to connect
With intuition, and dreams, these you can ask
And speak in poetry when beginning the Task.
Planets are direct and slow in course
Just after being retrograde, the most powerful source
If in positive aspect to your own chart
-Yes, Astrology isn't easy, you have to be smart
Unless you know someone who knows
And trading crafts, you can avoid those
Uncertain labours, and uncertain success
With an astrologer's help, your time is blest
And together you attain what you need,
Merging your knowledge for Godspeed.
